I took these pictures of Tokyo Tower from Mori Tower in Roppongi Hills. The sightseeing spot is located in 52nd floor where you can also enjoy 2 different museums and some super high class cocktail bars. I prefer to have my gin tonics in places a bit more humble though..

Horse playing PC Engine
Diego, a good friend of mine took this hilarious picture in a retro videogame shop in Akihabara. The pic was so good I couldn't resist creating a ¨motivation¨ with it.
I still don't know if this subject could barely see what he was playing, but he was doing pretty good actually! Yeah.. you know.. this is Akihabara.

36th Grand Sumo Tournament at Ryogoku
After long time waiting, today I had the chance to attend a sumo tournament. It took place in Ryogoku, an awesome stadium designed only for this purpose. The lower categories started fighting at 11am until lunch time. From 3pm to 5pm was the time for the ¨big boys¨.
One thing that surprised me was that there are actually some gaijin (foreigner) fighters and they did it pretty good. The combats usually are really fast but incredibly intense and it's admirable the respect that fighters show each others during all bout stages.
Besides all pictures I took, you can also watch the semifinals, one of the most intense and spectacular moments of the evening, Yokozuna against Barto.
3, 2, 1... FIGHT!

Jokebox
At last on Air!
One year and a half ago I worked for the spanish CG studio "Kotoc". During my short time there I had the chance to animate a 3 minutes long sketch for this funny animation series: "Jokebox".
As you can see in the episode below, the animation style is extremely snappy and cartoonish, going from pose to pose with bursts of movements, trying to avoid as much inbetweens as possible.
My animation style is usually closer to kind of "emphasized realism" so it was really tough to me to adapt to this particular style.
Anyway, I have to confess that I'm pretty satisfied with the final result because when watching the whole episode, all the sketches look like they have been animated by the same 'nimator.
PS: My sketch is "String"(min.10)

A Documentary about Alberto Mielgo
I recently found this great documentary about Alberto Mielgo. Besides being an awesome painter, Alberto is, in some way, my boss. He is the art director of Tron Uprising, tha animated series that
I've been involved in this last year which will air around mid 2012 (very optimistic from my point of view).
Is very funny that this guy approves my animation shots in L.A., I think I never had such an open minded boss. I guess you can't never be a visionary if your art is not provocative and lawbreaker enough.
In this documentary you can see Alberto talking about his art and actually see him in one of his painting sessions with Belladona, a world famous pornstar.
Please watch it, you won't regret, I swear.

Sunset at Rainbow Bridge
Today, coming back from amazing Tokyo Motor Show 2011 I had to cross Rainbow bridge.
The day was clear enough to see Mt.Fuji from Tokyo so I took this picture where you can see the sweeping cone from a great distance.

Akihabara Electric Town
It's been a while since I've been thinking about a post regarding to awesome Akihabara district (秋葉原電気街) aka Electric Town, one of the most famous zones of Tokyo because it's the major shopping area for electronic, computer, anime, and otaku goods, including new and used items.
Last week I decided to buy a Super Famicom, so I took my camera and headed to "Akiba" wondering If I would be able to find a legendary store called "Super Potato"( スーパーポテト), a retro gaming heaven, a true Mecca for all the old school videogamers where you can find anything from Pong to PSX. Finally I reached the place and here you can find some pictures I took of it and it's surrondings.
